Since you aren't Canadian, you will have to pay, BUT you can go to the newspapers and say that you are a poor American without health insurance and this was the only way to prevent your baby being born in a bathroom stall at Wal-Mart. Actually, in Ontario (not sure about anywhere else) the midwives coalition has money set aside for people who come here from other countries and can't afford to have babies in hospitals. My friend used a midwife, and she was telling me about it
