They cut out lots of junk because otherwise it would be way too fucking huge and take another 4 years to make. If (and hopefully they will) make a second one, they'll probably put a few things back in. I doubt the game will be 'worthless in content', though.
They took out dragons and kill-able children.
You can still beat the shit out of your kids, though.
