i don't know what the specific law is here but we got this email yesterday at work. i completely screwed the pooch by telling my boss i voted on saturday. i could have been sitting on my couch eating bon bons and wiping smeared mascara from my tears of joy as they read exit polls in swing states.

Given tomorrow’s voting participation is projected to have the highest turnout ever you can expect long lines at your local voting location. For those that plan on voting before work, I recommend arriving to your voting destination by 7:00am.
Before you leave tonight, please let either your supervisor or myself know if you’re planning to vote in the morning or after work. I want to ensure we’ll have adequate office coverage in the morning – if there are long lines at the polls. Depending, on our collective voting schedule, some may need to leave before 5:00pm to vote after work.
