This is actually a pretty good strategy for the republicans. In four years time, they should put up that Jeb Bush fellow and start another war, just in time for the elections. Nobody cares about the way you president your country, as long as you put them into the middle of a nasty war come elections.
Anyway, this would never happen in europe.
