Absolutely. The Dems tried to win an election by grabbing republican voters; it didn't work. To win they need to create new democrats and that can't be done if they continue along the same tread. Dean could have been portrayed as 'extreme' by the gop media but I bet that 'extremism' could have been viewed as passion by plenty others. Would have been interesting to see how he would have done this year.
