Is it possible that its a marketing thing?
What better way to get your name fresh in the minds of people than to put it on the news about it being bad. Then people will go to see just HOW bad the food really is, They can make back the money they lose in a lawsuit in less than a year so in essence there probably making more money and getting publicity.
