I'd say go with the new engine. To go the turbo route you would have to change the exhaust manifold and change cams (BIG $$$). Theres also a great deal of spark advance issues when you go into positive pressures with stock PCMs, and if you dont get it just right you'll eventually blow the motor. Plus 7 pounds of boost isn't a whole lot.
