My prediction is it will go absolutely nowhere. At the moment the US press isn't even covering the story.

I don't know. Despite our presidents various failing initiatives and the fact he's having a least a little trouble even marshalling his own troops, I've gotten a little epressed about W's potential downfall.

I would say if the R's lose majority at the midterm and it becomes possible to open any kind of investigation into anything (say todays knews that Halliburton is recieving millions of dollars into bonuses even as they are being charged with bilking the gov. out of millions for food and fuel) there could easily be a watergate style implosion. If however, the R's maintain majority and refuse to investigate anything, he'll probably get to retire before any of his chickens come home to roost. Or he'll have to get caught doing something really, really, really bad.

But look; I'd say his insistence on John Bolton as UN ambassador at a time when N. Korea and Iran are working on Nuclear stockpiles, and South American and Arab oil interests are making common cause shows an AMAZING lack of judgement. And that kind of hubris can lead a commander in chief and his administration to do some very, very wierd shit.
