Short War = small short-term economic growth with a chance of economic recovery
Long Protracted War = the small short term growth doesn't mean shit and the only ones to benefit are those under the umbrella of the military industrial complex
That's basic economics and it applies fairly consistently to almost all development of post-war countries. Remember the '70s?
