To me, FF9 is one of the the best Final Fantasies. It brought back the "Fixed Class" system we all know and love from FF1, 4, and 6, instead of having a completely customizable party (which I hated), it had a wide range of completely different and totally wacky characters (who DON'T suck), it brought back Moogles abundance, and it was funny as hell. And just because Kefka is a plain old-fashioned queer, it doesn't mean that Kuja is.

Kefka and Kuja don't belong in the same sentence let alone the same series
Your points don't validate the games goodness as mine don't its badness. I just don't like the game that much. Felt like a gimmick and was just insulting to a long time fan who appreciates a believable world (for how much it can be) and an engrossing struggle. I just never felt that with IX. "We're going back to our roots, woohoo crystals and moogles!"
Maybe if I was 11, I would've enjoyed the stupid goofiness and wacky characters.
Freya was cool tho.
