Its a horrible word over here too, but we use it much more readily. To me, it just doesnt sound right with an american accent. Like when Tony Soprano says it...it just sounds wrong.There is a great Dudley Moore monologue that goes something like:
'Colin! Hello mate! good to see you! how are you? Alright? Wife and kids alright? yeah? Well, ok, bye mate, see you soon! yeah, take care! ......................cunt.'
I often used to leave it on my mate Colin's answering machine.
