i see what you mean, zig. i was going for a silohuette, yes, but i wanted to pull out some detail in the little one. i'm not too interested in bringing detail out in the shadows surrounding him.

i think i just have a lot of gray area here. i did adjust the contrast in ps on an adjustment layer to lighten it a bit.

i have a canon 10d. this was shot with a sigma 28-80. (obviously on the 28mm side of things.) i want some canon glass so bad, but i just can't afford it right now, so i'm stuck doing post-processing sharpening which is a pain in the ass.

i use raw shooter essentials to work on the raw files, doing most of my major white balance, saturation, exposure and color fixes there.
