thanks for the compliment. my biggest problem is getting a good print. i have an epson 1280 that is on the fritz. i think it just needs a good cleaning. at least i hope that's all it needs because the fucker was expensive. i really am dumb when it comes to color matching and spaces. i've tried like hell to get a good b&w print out of this thing and there's always, always a color cast. it's either blue or magenta. if i print in black ink only, there's a green cast.

like i said, i do major post-processing in raw shooter essentials (http://www.pixmantec.com/products/ra...essentials.asp). it's a totally rad free software package that is FAST AS FUCK :o my favorite tool in it is the button that highlights clipped pixels. it's extremely handy for me because histograms make me feel stupid.

i am working in photoshop 7. i haven't upgraded to cs yet because i don't have money i would pirate the shit, but i feel bad because i've pirated every other version of ps that i've had in the past (save for this one) and i now realize how naughty naughty that is. most of the stuff i do in ps includes cropping/resizing, cloning and softening/sharpening using multiple layer masks. i've toyed with curves adjustment layers, but i really think my problem is that i don't completely understand what i am doing. i can see the effects, yes, but the explanation is a little muddy to me. i'm almost positive that i would benefit from a good book.

i might just stick with ps 7 and purchase raw shooter essentials 2006. it's way cheaper, and i love how fast rse is. ayup.
