Whiskey is good in coffee and mint julips because it compliments the other flavors. Other than that, it should be consumed straight, lest you defeat the purpose of drinking anything besides pure ethanol in your pansy concoctions.

So far I think that Bourbon is my favorite whiskey, with Irish being close in second. I haven't sampled that many recently, so I've probably forgot to tell the difference. Cheap whiskey just tastes cheap, though.
