DNA is in the nucleus, RNA is in the mitochondrion.
Mitochondria have no other purpose than to store/make energy for the cell to survive. The mitochondria don't drive any specific function, they don't store any key genetic information at all.
You've got a completely fictional tale, pure fantasy with monster chopping action. But very fun, of course.
