The Psychonauts thread made me think of this.

There's some third-person game, and I don't think it's a necessarily SCARY game or anything, but I remember you go into a pool to get an item or something. And you try to get out, I think, and then flames come up and people are moving around the pool or something. I can't remember. I THOUGHT it was the secret room in Psychonauts but I know I'm wrong.

I think they were writhing around the outside of the pool, saying stuff like "HELP US" or something, I don't know.
