Gosh, Kulty. How long do you think that barbarian liver of yours is going to last?
There were a lot of times reading through your brilliant found art post that I thought of speciffic responses, but the thing is, your just such a big mess.
You're... a nationalist American who wants to take 6000 years of history into account (and I'm guessing that at VERY most you have a vague idea what some of your ancestors might have been, maybe, a few hundred years ago) that's tied to land worship of a place your ancestors aren't from, covered with tattoos, many symbolic of Kultures you aren't part of...
So, you're in favor of... Barbaric American Nationalism? So, you're, what, like a French immigrant fur trapper? How you're getting this Conan the Barbarian stuff mixed up with America and nationalsim is kind of beyond me. We're only a little over two hundred years old, and the tradition we most wanted to bring with us out of Europe was based on The Magna Carta, not club wielding uber Goths and Vandals. We pretty much wiped out the population that was already tied to the land here, and since then we've had Immigrants from every nation on earth.
So really, the ony thing you said I find worthy of direct comment is "Once, I would have been great"
I doubt that. You make me think of pimply guys that save up all their money for the annual Rennaisance fair and talk about how if they been back in the days of Orc and Hobbits people would have understood their poetry and chicks would have dug them.
I think you should be saying
"Once, I would have gotten drunk, picked on the wrong guy and he'd have beaten me until what was left looked like chunky pasta sauce. If I had been lucky enough to live through it, I'd have done the same thing as soon as I was back on my feet and repeated the process until someone killed me. The best I could have hoped for is that after surving several near fatal beatings, the other Barbarians would have taken pity on my broken, crippled self, and kept me on as some sort of human mascot."
Listen. I have known several people who drink the way you say you do. There's a point at which you will damage your brain so badly there will be no coming back. Barbarians DO NOT RIDE with the guy that cannot stay on the horse. Pull yourself together.
