Because when you check into a hotel they have to physically have a credit card for accountability. It has to have your name on it. Most companies don't just give employees credit cards. They reimburse them for the charges. When I travel on company time, I have to use my credit card and I am reimbursed for it when the task is done.

This way the employees don't go on a rampage with the company card.
