it ultimately rests on Konami's willingness to co-operate with the movie producer and i think we can safely trust in Konami and Hideo to not fuck up. Besides start worrying about the Devil May Cry movie.
EDIT: How the crap do I get Metal Slug 3 to work in mame? It keeps giving me this crap:
