Obesity used to be a sign of wealth in that they could afford lots of food and not do any hard labor, and nowadays skinnyness shows wealth, as they can afford healthy foods and exercise equipment.

Potrayed society values wealth more than anything, I guess. That doesn't really have any bearing on what people fuck and why, though
