They definitely should get their own state.

When you've got a country like Iraq with so many ethnic groups that dont necessarily get along with each other, its probably best to let them make their own countrys. That way they can all live however they please. As long as you make it fair so theres no resentment between the groups.

probably one Kurd state and one state for the rest of Iraq might be the way in this case.
