Best secondaries for thugs MMs are poison and dark because they have heals.
When choosing powers, dual wield is the only gun power you should take - empty clips uses way too much endurance and will piss people off and as a mm you are pretty squishy. Just remember to take all your powers that give you henchmen and power up your henchmen asap. Taking the fitness and travel pool of your choice before 14 is also recommended if you've got all your hench powers and nothing interesting in your secondary.
Mayhem missions will give you a jump pack which has 2 hours of fuel in it, which minimizes the importance of taking a travel at 14, so keep that in mind.
