Misdemenor - Nope, Savini's school is in the midwest... somewhere. I forget where. Chicago, I think. Westmore is run by the Westmore Family (Michael, specifically). They're one of the legacy families (having been the first family contracted by a major studio in the 30s and every generation since).
Black Flag: as for the Phenomenauts being Man or Astroman rip-offs, not quite. The Phenomenauts can actually play their instruments. The gimmick is secondary.
