I'm a purist. 'Tis the first for me. But I have a soft spot for Part 8.

I dunno what it is. Maybe it's because the movie has no soundtrack aside from the ambient noise and that wierd sighing noise or whatever it is. It draws you into the movie. A soundtrack usually reminds me that I'm watching a movie, rather than being sucked into the creepy universe.

Whatever. I don't have to justify my decision.
