I rotate between a barback and a bartender. I just quit the nightclub I worked at because I was barbacking for the GREEDIEST bartenders ever. The general rule of thumb is the barback makes half of what the bartenders make, since they can't do thier job if the barback doesnt do thiers (refill the ice, beer, liquor, help them serve...) however, I got tired of getting a measily 60-100 dollar cut of thier anywere from 300 to 900 dollar tipout. Fuck I would of been happy with an extra 50 bucks a night. Which would of required 6 people to pull an extra 10 bucks out of thier gigantic pile of free money. Ugh. On to the next club.

Working in this industry is amazing, I recommend it for anyone who isn't appearance dissabled. EVERY town, regardless of big a shitstain it is has a bar, and the best part is for you greasy americans, as long as you are 18 you can serve booze, you just cant drink it till your 21. I'm sure this varies state to state.
