I'm not sure I really understand the problem. When you go to Google's homepage and enter a search term and click "Search", what happens exactly? Do you get a 'page not found' or something? I'm assuming entering an address in the address bar works because you got to this site. Where does eBay come in? If you provide some more information it would help. Sorry to hear about the hoodie.
