A year after this mugshot in '88 (Brown was arrested for an array of assault, drug, and vehicular charges) he won a Liftime Achievement Award at the Grammys! He was always smiling!
Despite his turbulent personal life, James Brown was, is, and will remain one of the greatest musicians, performers, and all around characters that the world has and will ever see!
RIP James Brown.
