Talk about the new game here! It was announced in Nintendo's E3 2003 page. Here are the features:

Returning Characters:
  1. Mario
  2. Luigi
  3. Peach
  4. Bowser
  5. Yoshi
  6. Wario
  7. Donkey Kong
  8. Koopa (first time since Super Mario Kart)
New Characters:
  1. Baby Mario
  2. Baby Luigi (first appearance since Yoshi's Island)
  3. Birdo
  4. Daisy
  5. Waluigi
  6. Diddy Kong (Nintendo FINALLY put him in a Mario game)
  7. Bowser Jr.
  8. Paratroopa
Features:
  • Two characters per kart (one driving and one handling items)
  • Character have their own personalized karts
  • LAN capabilities
