I liked the movie, but I think Schmid's criticisms are valid. I thought the movie was funny and cute, but I don't know if it's really that deserving of all the acclaim it's gotten.
There was a time in Hollywood when execs aspired to make movies like Juno on a regular basis, not as bait for the Academy during Oscar Season.
