perhaps this is monumentally naive, and if so I will stand in check...
why doesn't Kashmir become an independent state? Is there vast national resources that India and pakistan are fighting over. Or is it just one of those archaic disputes between to countries who each believe they have a "right" to a certain piece of land?
I guess I probably am naive (idealistic, whatever) because it always shocks me to see such childish disputes (including holy wars), and now it's bickering children with nuclear weapons.
