Marvel should just buy the rights to Spidey, the Fantastic Four, and the X-men from Sony and Fox respectively, and start fleshing out their universe on film. It's obvious the films can't survive creatively past the second installment on their own. Crossover films are the next logical step, even for DC which can't seem to mine deeper than Batman and Superman for big-screen material. A lot of superheroes aren't well-known or well-liked enough to carry their own film, much less a series. Fuck Spider-Man 4; if it happens it's going to be a god-damned disaster. Either leave well enough alone or take the character and franchise in new directions. Didn't anyone learn anything from Batman & Robin?
