Tell me about it. Food here is so fucking expensive now. Stuff like chicken costs about £8-9 for a single packet containing 3-4 largish bits - and that's the bog standard supermarket stuff.
Fuel is the exactly same problem - I put in £20 yesterday and it didn't even half fill my tank. This time last year I was getting a whole tank for 35 quid.
