Village: Small, clustered, usually doesn't have a local government, usually considered part of a larger town. Usually rural, though the term can refer to certain urban areas.
Town: Large settlement, has a local government. Usually a few thousand people, minimum. Term sometimes used interchangeably with large villages. Sometimes used to refer to cities.
Anyway, in Kentucky, little green men supposedly terrorized a community of people in 1955:
