Not loads, but very good insurance, vacation time and security. The company prepped "specimens" for dissection. His main job was skinning cats, so that students would have some emotional distance from what they were dissecting. He also injected colored latex into the arteries and veins of rats, frogs, and so on.
It was a temporary job when he was saving up to move. I wasn't wild about it.
