It's possible, but not reliable. I sometimes dream about stuff I think about before sleeping (like when I was certain I was getting a terrible grade, I dreamt that I got straight Cs in everything). And if I fall asleep while listening to something, that usually incorporates itself in my dreams (like the Tropic Thunder one).
