huh, weird.
yeah, alyssa explained that it's (well tortoise shell) a female only thing because whatever causes it is on the second x chromosome. so if'n males are born that way, they've got an extra x and are as you mentioned sterile.
and she's definitely an attention hog. i think she hears the stroking of hands on cat fur, because if you pet one of the kittens and she's on the other end of the house, she'll run over and start rubbing on you, as if to say "don't forget me!"
