The flashlight was making me motion sick while I was in the forest.
Also, the thing you said about Crash Bandicoot is exactly how I feel about the chases. They could almost be fun even but they add nothing to the atmosphere.

I bet you were a slacker in high school. You have to remember
Spoilers! |
You're not playing as Harry Mason or even really how Cheryl remembers Harry Mason. You're playing as Cheryl's ideal version of her father. Scenes where Harry is moaning about his daughter are pretty pathetic when you know what's what.
You notice how nervous Michelle is when you're about to leave for the Lighthouse. She only exists in context with Harry Mason so I imagine the bad feeling she gets is for herself since it's the last time they meet.
Does Michelle appear in any other Silent Hills? I don't think she does. What does that mean?
Some of the psychological changes seem kind of arbitrary to me. In my first game when I got to the hunting lodge there was an eviscerated bear corpse, next time their wasn't. The pawn shop changes names too and I just don't see the corollary between my psychological state and these differences. Some of them make sense though, like the movie at the theater changes. When I was playing as my real nice guy self it was "Mommy Dearest." ???. But when I was a mean drinking sex fiend it was "Bad Poison." |
