If breastfeeding is something that works out for you, great. The majority of problems I've had with hardcore breastfeeders is their absolute belief that if you're not doing it, it's because you're selfish, lazy or want to destroy your child. They also decide that it's totally their business.

Within 24 hours of having my daughter, I was visited by no fewer than SEVEN "lactation consultants". The baby didn't get any rest, I didn't get any rest, and my physician finally had to tell them to leave me alone and give the baby some formula. Everyone was spouting a lot of "truths" that weren't true in my case. My kid ended up in the 80th percentile growthwise so I don't think she's hurting.
