This is just such a pessimistic and self-defeating outlook on doing anything that it makes me want to vomit. Yes, if you write something, Shakespeare's probably beat you to it, yes, if you make a heavy metal song, Sabbath or Zeppelin did it first, but anyone who thinks that excuses them from putting every ounce of effort they have into doing something is a fucking loser.
