Well, the good news is that Scott Frank (Minority Report, Out of Sight, Get Shorty) is writing and George Romero will be doing the screenplay for the remake.
The bad news? James Gunn and Michael Tolkin, the other two writers. Gunn is remembered for writing the screenplay for the crappy Scooby Doo movies and Tolkin wrote for the TV series, Taxi. I wouldn't want those two writing for a zombie flick such as this one.
