Don't forget that Boston is a city on an island.
Salem and Boston are fairly close to one and another, I'd say about 15 miles from each other. It would usually take me 15 minutes to get there by driving on Route 1 which makes great for a scenic route. There are countless resturaunts to choose from. There's Weathervane, the seafood resturaunt inside a pirate ship, meat-heaven Hilltop with a huge cactus and cows in front lawn waiting to be brought in and slaughtered for meat, Fuddruckers, Prince the pizza place with a mini Tower of Pisa on top of the building, Kowloon the chinese resturaunt, candy/ice cream store and lastly, a rhetoric mini putt putt course with rather large orange T-Rex hovering over the highway. Out of all the resturaunts, I'd highly suggest Prince, the pizza is superb and they serve beer as well.
