That didn't really answer my question.... so they were there for shelter.... once the storm subsided, wouldn't a jamboree of EMT's go into action mode and want to assist? The author claims to be an EMT, and this is reported to be her experience trying to evacuate. Why wasn't her experience trying to offer relief and support, offering her support to the local EMT's instead?
