That first episode you described had the obsessive chick jumping off a building or something and when she was in heaven, her face was all smashed up; it ended with her trying to kiss him. I think that one was based on one of the comics. The chick was played by Muriel Hemingway or whatever her name is!

The guy in the second one gets the auditory system of an owl from a doctor who's been doing experimentations with splicing. I don't remember his head exploding, though.
