Yeah, it has a lot of reference to DW/DQ games, but I've never played any for more than an hour so I wouldn't have picked up on those.
It's really an "homage" to classic gaming, and specifically seems to focus on early Zelda and Dragon Warrior games.
(You can design your own characters, too)
