Old Dec 17th, 2004, 07:57 AM        GIVEAWAY: "THE ULTIMATE MATRIX 10-DISC DVD SET!"
Warner Bros. have been really cool with this one. They've given me an extra copy of the new 10-disc Ultimate Matrix DVD box set to put up on I-Mockery for a giveaway. I can't tell you how nice of a job they did on this set... for fans of the movies such as myself, it's a dream come true.

Anyway, good luck with entering the giveaway! All you gotta do is send in one email to the address posted on the following page and you'll be entered!

NEW GIVEAWAY: "THE ULTIMATE MATRIX 10-DISC DVD SET!"

Even though the movies sucked, I will enter this if it's open to non-Americans.

It's always good to know you can appreciate those movies FS, rock on.

AChimp, it is open to non-Americans. However, it's not open to people who hate the movies... I'd rather a true fan of the series, who can't afford the DVD set, have a chance at winning it rather than someone who really doesn't care about them at all.

"We'll draw 1 lucky winner randomly"

How exactly does this work? Assuming you get 1,000 emails, do you print them all out then draw from a hat? Do you input all the data to a spreadsheet, then press the DOWN key while singing "LALALALALALA I CAN'T SEEE YOUR NAME!" with your other hand covering your ear?

Just curious.

First, I put all of the email addresses through a rigorous gauntlet of nearly impossible-to-survive obstacle courses. Then I test their resistance to fire. Usually there's only a few email addresses left standing by that point, so I just give them blunt objects which they will use to fight each other to the death.

Sure it is. No single email addresses has survived a second giveaway sweepstakes. A different winner every time. :o

Wow. This set is sooooo mine. My email is f'n tough as nails. I once saw it rob a bank at gunpoint, kick open the vault door (those things are thick, yo) kidnap the teller and have rough (consentual) intercourse with her using a lit road flare in the back of a stolen armored truck.

Is that all? Dude, I saw an email address come out victorious after wrestling a giant aqua-cougar in a sea of boiling sulfuric acid. Your email address had better get training.

Did I mention that this was a bank in HELL and that the teller was actually SATAN and the road flare was actually still just a ROAD FLARE?
Beat that.

Bwahah, you think that's impressive?

I saw an email tear off its own massive nutsack and use it to bludgeon another email to death! You're still playing in the minors son... reality is gonna be quite harsh for your email address when it tries to step up to the majors.

I figured out why I didn't like the Matrix movies. Because I couldn't understand have the dialogue. I don't mean I didn't understand the movie. I mean an assload of the dialogue I couldn't decipher during my first viewings of the films. And because I didn't know what they'd said, other parts didn't make sense to me.

I went over to Movie Mistakes, and I'm not the only one who didn't understand some things. There are a lot of questions that have been answered for the Matrix movies. And those answers have helped me understand the movies a whole lot more, to the point I could probably say I would enjoy them if I watched them again.

So yeah, I'm entering.

Oh, and:

Monday, October 4th 2004 ended a six-year dispute involving Sophia Stewart, the Wachowski Brothers, Joel Silver and Warner Brothers. Stewart's allegations, involving copyright infringement and racketeering, were received and acknowledged by the Central District of California, Judge Margaret Morrow residing.

Stewart, a New Yorker who has resided in Salt Lake City for the past five years, will recover damages from the films, The Matrix I, II and III, as well as The Terminator and its sequels. She will soon receive one of the biggest payoffs in the history of Hollywood, as the gross receipts of both films and their sequels total over 2.5 billion dollars.

http://www.movie-mistakes.com/

It has nothing specifically to do with how stupid the Matrix sequels were (which they mostly are), but it's just a site where people who have too much time on their hands submit various errors found in films, ask questions, offer trivia, and discuss easter eggs. I thought everyone knew that site.

But obviously you didn't, since you had to take a shot at me that only makes sense if you didn't know the site.

I have nothing against movies that require a second vewing for me to really appreciate them, but the two last Matrixses were to convluted for me. I'm sure I'll like them more when I watch them again, when I buy the set, but I really had a hard time enjoying them the first time around.

This thread is gonna make a familiar turn, and I can't say I'm helping things.

At least someone agrees with me.

As films, they were above average. As Matrix sequels, they were average. I'm not saying I hate them, though, and I wouldn't say no to a free collection.

Even though the only disks that I will ever watch are the one's with the movies actually on them, I think this is still very much worth entering for.
