I'd never heard of this "Straight Edge" phenomenon before today, when I came across Winky's page. I'm from Minnesota - is this an East or West Coast thing or something?

Anyway..

What sorry, patheticm and ARROGANT little fucks. Each one calls himself xI'madumbassx and thinks he's original. They look down on chemicals and promiscuity (and sometimes eating animals), yet they are totally inclusive regarding everything else, and I quote: " Violence has nothing to do with edge. It has to do with the type of person you are. Some straight edge kids are violent and others arent. Same goes for racism."

Hi, I'm sXe, I take care of my body and live a clean life, but I love to go out and beat up those filthy ******s and every time someone offers me a cigarette I punch him in the throat to show him what smoking will make him feel like (because of course I know exactly what smoking is like even though I will never ever take a single puff because that would mean I broke the edge and all of my friends will lose their respect for me and I will be shunned).

This brings me to the next thing that pisses me off. Once xDumbassx "claims edge" and swears that he will never enjoy himself, he may not ever go back on his word on pain of being outcast from the 1337 sXe community. Another quote: "i don't drink or smoke or anything like that but i'm just afraid that someone would persuade me to like take a sip of wine or something."

Okay, I'm done. I realize that all this has probably been said before, but after discovering an entire scene full of such shocking assholes, I needed to write about it.
