Does anyone here actually like this movie? Cause, much as we all must suck Stanley Kubrick's dead dick, I thought it was dull tripe.

Sure, it had tits, but I can rent a porno and get that with a lot less annoying music (who in God's name thought that repeating the same two piano notes over and over again made for a 'suspenseful' soundtrack?)

The movie is so incredibly slowww.

Yep piece of crap. We have a directer in Canada that seems to be following in his footsteps that also sucks, Atom egoyan.

I actually loved the movie and own it. Forget the nudity, it's just an eerie story. The 2-note piano theme always made me laugh, but it does achieve the desired effect. I'm no fan of Tom Cruise by any stretch, but I still thought the movie was great. Seeing that room filled with all those people wearing masks was pretty damned creepy too. I'm pretty much a fan of all o' Kubrick's works though.

I like most of Kubrick's films, but I've got to go with FS on this one. For the "point/morale" that I took away from it, it just dragged on to long and slowly.

Besides, the masks are just ripped-off/leftovers from the masquerade ball in Labrynth!!!

I've only seen it once, and I don't remember a lot of it, but I did enjoy it.

I didn't care for it too much, but I liked the 'dreamy' feel it had to it and how everything seemed slightly surreal. My biggest complaint is that it just feels incomplete. If I recall, Kubrick passed on quite a bit before its release...

I actually do love that movie, and Atom Egoyan. Oh well, perhaps some day you'll be enlightened enough to 'get' Eyes Wide Shut. I found it to be very compelling; the story is merely a journey, no of it has to actually make sense, it's the atmosphere that is the interesting aspect. I also found it to be quite hilarious, since the only person looking for sex, Tom Cruise's character, is the only one who really doesn't get it. He is seeing sex everywhere as he hunts for it, but it's destructive, destroying lives around him. It's just a great film, and it's a pity lots of people hate it.

I didn't like it until the third time I saw it. I still think it has loads and loads of weak points and I think Nicole Kidman is absolute shit in it, but it has a lot of aspects that grow on you.

I think he died four days after the movie was done... or maybe it was just four days after shooting the movie, and editing still had to be done.

I was watching the movie on TV last night. The story does finally pick up the pace beyond the point where Tom Cruise visits the sex cult mansion, but by that time it's already lost my attention. It's just not my kind of movie.

I've actually never seen it. I wouldn't doubt that it's good. I'm just pointing out the fact that you think every artsy movie is pure brilliance. Even the ones that blatantly suck ass. You're bound to love it.

One thing that bugged me about that movie was Nicole Kidman's portrayal of smoking marijuana... christ, she acted like she just shot up some pure China white heroin or toked a hit of crack.

SK is an over-rated piece of shit, all his movies suck his dead bloated dick. especially clockwork orange... i once saw this porno called clockwork orgy (seriously) and it had a better story and much better acting.

It's not invader zim, it's a Robot I made.

I got the antenna from GIR from Zim, yeah, but the rest of the similarities are coincidental.

and Jack, you're an idiot.

2001: A Space Odyssy (sp?) > many many many many movies.

you may not have enough cranial capacity to get many of the things in his movies, but that doesn't make it so that they infact are what you say they are.

That picture rocked, and Jack should indeed be killed with some type of large film canister of A Clockwork Orange.

It's a damn shame my review for 2001: A Space Odysee(sp>?) got lost in the abyss of the movie reviews, i spent a damn long time on that. But Eyes Wide Shut is in my opinion stanley's worst film. And I'm a big fan, too.

oh no, i understand the movies perfectly well.. a good friend of mine feels the need to constantly point out absolutly everything about his movies.... my point is They all blkow... wll the shinning isn't bad... but it's not very great either... he;ll even stephen king said he hates stan version of it.... just face it you guys got all cuaght up in the hype... i'll bet he made some deal with stephen spielberg "steve-o if i die before i can do A.I. you gotta do it for me man.... i have to take one more shit on the movie going public.....it's my legacy man" or somthing to that effect.... so maybe you assholes should get off your high fucking horse and just admit that his films really arn't that great i can see how some people might like his movies.... though most of the people i know who claim they do are little Punk-wannabe drama queens who buy thier clothes from hot topic and runaway from home and hang out in the city park just to be more "punk" like they have to be legit or somthing its really sad..... but yeah grow up..
