Oscars Out of touch with America?

I couldn't find a good article about this but apparently all 5 of the nominated bes pictures didn't gross half of Star Wars combined, and people are saying that the Academy is falling behind on what America's tastes are.


I say the academy doesn't need to give a shit about what grosses what and what movies are popular. It's a about a piece of artwork, if it was about stupid crap like box office dollars then why not just make the entire system an online AOL poll or something...
