Its different here in Manitoba.
Bartending school teaches you how to make drinks and gives you something to put on your resume.
However the actual licence is a certificate saying you passed a course on "responsible liquor service" and costs $20 to take the test.
This was only required starting from about two years ago when some idiot got loaded and fell in the river, leading to all bars abolishing cheap draft nights, hot girls carrying trays full of shooters and a two drink maximum, (no more than 3 ounces per person) and a minimum charge of $2.25 per drink
This has made my job suck a little more, but as it stands I still get paid money to talk to girls and (occasionally) open a bottle of beer.
