There is no point whatsoever to this post. But I guess I'll say they have some good songs. If that's what this post is about.

One or two decent ones. I don't like the stop-go rythm they always seem to carry.

Shadows Fall is amazing. There was a time when my band (before my time) played with Shadows Fall on a *somewhat* regular basis and they considered each other friends and now they've forgotten us. :/

They prolly saw Buddah getting it on with Moses so it fried their brains, now they see flying pink bunnies being ridden by miniature Elvis impersonators. They can see you but can't recognize you.

Wish I could see those guys live. I heard a reviewer say they were the second reincarnation of Metallica. Well, he was probably an asshole, but he's close.

They don't sound like Metallica at all to me but they are damn good. The new record is fucking great. Much better than the last one, which was also good. I think their first record blows, though. I don't like their old vocalist.

I can't listen to them, because they opened every fucking metal show at the Palladium (main metal club in MA.) for a period of 3-4 years. They're great players, but I am burnt out on 'em.
It's not really their fault, but nonetheless- partly because of their success, we're plagued with scores of hardcore-bands-gone-Goteborg. Booooooooooooring.

The thing is, Shadows Fall isn't that Swedish sounding at all. I fucking hate all of these hardcore bands trying to play Swedish metal, but I don't think Shadows Fall is like that. They do have some vaguely Swedish inspired melodies, but a lot of their riffing is based in old school thrash and traditional metal.

Oh my god, who are you?

Try shitty "hardcore" mixed with half-assed, sloppy, poorly recorded, wannabe melodic Swedish death metal = Prayer for Cleansing.

That band sucked. The east coast is strewn with bands like that, and 95% of them blow. They're all fucking fake metal fucks who were into hardcore when it was "cool", and now that metal is "cool" they're trying to play metal. The problem is their songwriting sucks, they can't perform tight enough, and they're all fucking frauds. Here today, gone tomorrow. Good riddance.

Prayer for Cleansing was such an innovative band. They were the first band to throw together european styles of metal with hardcore. Also, they did it better than alot of bands that are trying to do that right now. But I guess none of that matters since I'm not permitted to like them because YOU have a distaste for them.

HA, HA! The first band to do it!? THE FIRST BAND TO DO IT!? Are you kidding me? Bullshit! They just HAPPENED to be around when that stuff was just starting to gain popularity. They WERE among the first wave of those bands, I'll give you that. But they were NOT the first band to blend those styles by any means, nor are they the best by a longshot. That entire genre is a cesspool of bands that at best can write some very good riffs (which Prayer for Cleansing did have going for them), but very few of them are good bands as a whole. Melodic Swedish death metal has almost ruined the entire metalcore genre... Don't get me wrong, I love hardcore, and I love melodic Swedish death metal, but the blend of the two is basically an abomination.
